6 cups cubed day-old brioche or challah (about 1-inch cubes)
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
4 large eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp cornstarch
